Why so darn good? "The couple who owns the hotel does everything themselves, because they want it done right. The size of the rooms and the location near Old Town are the main things that attract me. It is a period motel with a B & B atmosphere, but without one of the B's."

Location: "On Central Avenue (the old Route 66) and a couple blocks from Old Town Albuquerque."

Rooms: "The decor is middle class middle European - clashing patterns and oddities. However they are enormous rooms and always incredibly clean."

Food: "No food, but a refrigerator is in the room."

Vibe: "Homey."

Keep in Mind: "No Smoking. Eclectic decor - not classy and slick."
